Google has come up with another interesting site, its called Knol.
Its more like Wiki but with some different flavours. There are anonymous posts allowed, it has publishing tools similar to blogs, but unlike blogs Knol wants you to write specific to one topic at a time.
The Knols you write will be ranked by popularity to increase competetion and thereby increasing visits...lols
Unlike Wiki, the content, they claim right now, will not be edited behind the scenes. It relies on users to notify the objectionable content.
Google signed a deal with Conde Nast's New Yorker, giving Knol authors the rights to use one of the magazine's famous cartoons in each Knol posting. Google will allow Knol writers to run ads on their entries and will share income with them.
Product manager of Knol claims that rather than competing with Wikipedia, Knol may end up serving as a primary source of authoritative information for use with Wikipedia articles.
